Beerze is a true love child born from a passion for beer. For five generations the brewers’ blood has pumped through this family’s veins. The brewery has a rich but turbulent past. When the brewery burnt to the ground, the family demonstrated its strong character through building a modern brewery in its place. The clinking glasses that followed the completion can still be seen in the Beerze brand logo. Raising a glass at these moments, bitter and sweet, would unfold as a tradition through the years.

The route through Kempen in Brabant is like a breath of fresh air. Winding along country roads, you feel the pressures of everyday life slip from your shoulders. On the village square in Vessem the Beerze Brewery receives you with open arms. And has done so since 1716. Here, you find peace and are embraced by the warmth of traditional norms and values. Ivo Kaanen, the youngest generation, maintains the family traditions. Ivo and his family have taken up the gauntlet, together with Jasper Langenhoff, to restore the brewery heritage to its former glory. The brewery has already been expanded to include an inn, terrace, restaurant, hotel, meeting rooms, party halls and a beautiful courtyard garden where life feels good. There is life and soul in the brewery.

For about 5 years we have been brewing on the future with more beers, of which 3 are already available commercially. With a doubling of the capacity each year we stand on the eve of the realisation of our dream, restoring the brewery heritage to its former glory. Brewing currently takes place on a small scale in Vessem, but our goal is a professional brewing system. In the coming year, with the help of our ambassadors and crowdfunding, we will install a brewing system.
